The other 8 May
On 8 May 2015, I followed Les Oranges, a cultural association set up in 2004 by sociologist M'Hamed Kaki, which is campaigning to make certain pages in the history of Algerian immigration more widely known, under the aegis of Karim Fergani, a professional trainer and resident of Champigny-sur-Marne.
I followed the collective to Nanterre to the square in front of the town hall for a rally in the presence of Patrick Jarry, mayor of Nanterre.
The collective then gathered in Paris on the square in front of the town hall, along with a number of associations and trade unions, to demand recognition of the state crimes committed by France in Algeria.
