Volver a Chile
My father was born in Chile, a country rich in culture, history and natural beauty. However, like many others during the turbulent times of political upheaval, he had to flee the dictatorship and seek refuge in Europe.
This escape was not only a physical one, but also an emotional one, as he left behind a significant part of himself in his homeland. His story is one of resilience and survival, but also of loss and longing for the country he had to leave.
In an effort to reconnect with my roots and better understand my father's story, I have been travelling to Chile regularly for several years. These trips have become more than just visits; they are profound experiences that allow me to immerse myself in the landscapes and history that shaped my father's life. With each trip, I gain a deeper insight into his experiences and the reasons for his deep connection to Chile.
Each image I capture, each place I visit, serves as a mirror, reflecting not only my father's past, but also my own identity and heritage. These trips are introspective journeys, helping me to piece together the fragmented pieces of our shared history and to better understand who I am.
